Out Clubbing

The Constitutional Clubs were affiliated to the Conservative political party, as disticnct from Conservative Working Mens' Clubs; places for men to go to drink and play. South Fulham Constitutional Club closed in 2006 and is now a residential development.

Have the Conservatives given up on such? What about Labour?

Most of of the politically affiliated clubs/working men's clubs have fallen into disuse, no matter what the leaning, it happens when insufficient people want to pay for something they can either get free or don't want to do.

Of course, the - often freehold - properties then form a prize to whoever owns the club, another motivator for closure. The most extreme version of this was probably the see off of the
RAC club in Pall Mall, owned by the members each of whom received somewhere around £50,000.......
