The Bath House, Dunbridge Street

This Bath House in in Dunbridge Street in the East End. It dates from the times when people did not have baths in their houses, so once every week, or maybe longer, they would visit one of hte many bath houses. Hard to imagine time like that now. Some bath houses were also steam rooms, and became a social meeting spot.

These now, are turned into private flats, you can rent one here. What they don't tell you is that rumour has it that one of the notorious Kray twins murdered victims is underneath the big chimney you can see here. You can read some more about it here, and about another place that might have a body here.

Ham, what a wonderful story! I love detective & criminal stories. Did you know that Sherlock Holmes frequented bath houses? Now I know why, he was looking for corpses!

Hi Ham, so this is where you go tomorrow for a cold bath to forget sadness:)

always something interesting no matter where you turn in London.

Carmen, I'd forgotten about Holmes, strange he didn't catch them, then.

Nuno, you have it wrong. Its JUST the kind of place to relax after winning a tough but fair game of football. I hear there are many bars in Porto that are useful for drowning sorrows ;-)

great emphasis on the textures and shapes here.

I live here and I can safely say there have been no sightings of any dead bodies!
