Eduardo Paolozzi

Further along high Holborn, a sculpture by Eduardo Paolozzi. For all the Italian name, a Scot.

The sculpture is called "The Artist as Hephaestus" - the only Greek god to do any work, he is the patrol of all craftsmen, especially those working with metals. Here is a more general view of the statue.

Looks like an early version of a Cyberman.

Interesting. What's the scale of this, it's hard to tell how large it is.

Like the angle - makes him more powerful than the full/second photo.

looks like this Greek god made waffles for all the other gods. My initial thought was 'a sculpture of someone holding a waffle iron?"

Also see him quite often when I go to my library in Chancery Lane. Kind of eerie.
