November Theme Day - The Colour Blue

Blues & Two's (Blue flashing light and two tone siren) is the name we give to emergency vehicles racing to a callout. Is it just me who thinks when he hears one "at least it's not for me"? I know I'm not alone wondering just why people abuse the service with inappropriate, time wasting calls. (and for those people who don't normally click my links, the last two are quite amusing - mind boggling, but amusing. The first is better than that.)

Lots and lots of people around the world have posted a picture on this theme today, although if past history is anything to go by quite a feew may have forgotten, and some are on different time zones. Click around and see what's out there.

Thank you for adding me Ham, i'm far too inept to have done it myself.

This is a great idea for BLUE. I do refer to policemen as blues, but haven't heard the car ref. to an emergency call.

I always find the sirens so loud and painful, but you're right about saying to yourself when seeing one of them going by, there but for the grace of God go I...

Excellent links to the idiots calling the 999 lines, thanks.

Ham, Brilliant post for today. For whom the siren calls. . .eh? I love the dazzling lights.

You really blue it this time Ham. Ok, a bit weak, but I'm running out of puns. Good choice.

Michael - >> I'm running out of puns.<< Can I quote you on that? Can I hold you to that?

Blogger Gerald (SK14) said ... (11:00) :

I've spent so long reading that first link that its time to go and make a cup of tea!

Blogger Eric said ... (12:41) :

I must say at first when I saw the photo, I was like... "Er... is that really a blue theme day photo???" And then I read.

These calls are hilarious and very sad. How could someone be as stupid as ringing the Police to look for glasses"?

Blogger Cheltenhamdailyphoto said ... (13:49) :

Quite Eric. What a waste huh.

Michael will not run out of puns Ham, we know this well don't we. He'll probably come back today with another one yet. Blue my cobwebs away just trying to think of one.

Two small blue lights and the blue street sign. Read the link. What a waste.
Happy theme day!

Have you ever been in one of those? I have - but not in the back. I went on a ride along one Saturday very late evening, til about 2am. It was an interesting ride.

Your previous post is more blue (bluer?) than this one. But i like what you wrote! In France also, people abuse such services!

Blogger Kate said ... (19:30) :

This photo with the discreet spots of blue is different from most of the theme posts. My eye was immediately drawn to the arrow.

Until reading this post, I have always assumed that you were a woman. I have no idea why!

That is one colorful police car.

Love the sign with the arrow - it keeps your eye circling around the photo.

Gerald - neenaw is compulsive reading, isn't it?

Eric - as they say, nobody ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of the public.

lynn - blue-ming right!

joy - woof woof woof woof woof? Woof, woof? OK, that's a cheap shot because I knew it was the dog van. I used htat one because of the street sign as well.

Marie - blue is more a state of mind!

Pat - ust checked, all present and correct ;-)

Blogger R&R said ... (08:27) :

Good choice, going with the police lights.
BTW, of all the London dragons, we love the one you use as your avatar the most!
