May Theme Day - Numbers

Stand up and be counted.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

That's number 1 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, there are 30 in all - this is the first time I've read them all. Leaving aside the trivial legal actions and occasionally bizarre legislation occasioned by it, this declaration has at its core the aim to sweep aside all the barbaric tyranny that has so coloured the history of human civilisation. That's worth having.

The poster is one created by Amnesty International, an organisation of individuals willing to put themselves on the front line. More about London based Amnesty over the next days.
