Tiptoe through the Tulips
Right now, the City of London is abloom with tulips and other flowers, which is quite ironic really. You may not have realised, but the Tulip mania in Amsterdam in the early 17th Century is probably the first ever "bubble" boom and bust. For a while, a single tulip bulb could change hands for more than ten times a skilled craftsman's annual wage.
