AL-- BERT!!!
Somehow, I can't imagine Queen Victoria screaming "Albert" to call him in to dinner, from mucking around with his scientific friends. Which is a shame, because I feel Albert is a name that lends itself well to being screamed. This is detail from the Albert Memorial, recently restored.

post a commentI suspect Vicki would have screamed ALBERT a few times during the course of their reign. This is a wonderful memorial. I particularly like symbolic statues that appear at each corner. Perhaps these might feature in a future post?
Probably not. She was very much in love with him. Her mourning was quite genuine. Have you ever seen a portrait of John Brown, the ghillie who was supposed to be very close to her (though nobody knows the exact truth) later on? Absolute spit image of Albert.
