Say Cheese
I remember when the first International Cheese Shop opened in Goodge Street in 1987 (I was working just around the corner), it was a revelation. They had a brilliant idea - not only could they sell great cheese, but they could make sandwiches out of the cheese, too. This, for a cheesophile, was heaven. These days it is all a lot more ordinary to find that type of thing, but the decent cheese sandwich lives strong. This shop is in Liverpool Street station, there are others in Victoria and Marylebone Stations.

My first foray into a London cheese shop was not as successful as yours. That's when I found out Red Leicester cheese is really just an orange cheddar. A crushing disappointment.
Thanks for the positive comments, we pride ourselves on the quality of our cheese sandwiches. For all those that want a little nostalgic trip, we have a picture of Ray all those years ago at the Goodge Street store on our about us page. He's full of just as much enthusiasm for great quality cheese and service today as he was back then. Pop in and see for yourself :) international cheese
