Borough Market

Borough Market has matured a lot over the years. These days it is open most lunchtimes, with a full market Thursday, Friday and Saturday with a host of specialist traders from far and wide that are a far cry from its Farmer's Market origin not that many years ago. At least it is still there - for many years, the rail rebuilding program threatened to close it down (which was, after all, why the original commercial vegetable market closed down)

Actually, as everyone was always careful to emphasise, it was never a farmers' market. Personally, I preferred it when there were more stalls for shopping rather than just for picking up food for lunch but things have to change, I suppose. It is, of course, all commercial as markets are.

I hope the rail building program does not shut it down. We even have a petition thing go around at work to get signatures and stuff. ^_^ Anyway, now that there is myMzone, I have online access to some of the people that I love - now, I have almost gotten comfortable with ordering my food online on myMzone.com and collecting the groceries in store (remember Argos? :D)
