Fernandez & Wells

Shot with Olympus E520
Don't know about you but I've got quite picky about where I eat these days. Maybe it is because London has such a wide choice of high quality places that you don't have to worry - if you don't like one place, another is around the corner.

So I was very happy to find Fernandez & Wells, who serve authentic Spanish style food. My Chorizo sandwich (pile on the right) was nothing short of excellent.

Building on the past

Shot with Olympus E520
If you are wondering why the Guildhall is featuring so strongly these last few days, it's because I got to explore it for free on the London Maze.

The London centred Art Gallery and museum is small, but perfectly formed. Not only are there odd bits of London History - like this trowel with magnificent ivory (!!) handle, but also fascinating information. I particularly enjoyed finding out how bit of old buildings get reused in other places. I would say it is worth the modest entrance fee, or it appears you can see a lot more for free on Fridays.

The Geffrye Museum

Shot with Olympus E520
Those of you who said The Geffrye Museum, give yourselves a cheer. This little gem of a museum is astonishingly overlooked (ok, I confess, I hadn't been in for probably 40 years before this), although they do sterling work with local schools.

It shows the changing style of the English domestic interior in a series of period rooms from 1600 to the present day. And with the magic of the Internet, you can visit without leaving your seat. It's set in an old Alms House, so these luxurious interiors couldn't be more different that its original use. I would urge you to pay a visit if you've not yet done so.

Two more interiors here and here. Oh and a new addition to my "London Links", too.
